VARs and ISVs not affected by recession

Recession? What recession? The government says we're not really in one, and former congressman Phil Gramm says it's only a "mental recession" and we're all just a bunch of whiners. But from where I'm sitting here in the heart of the Industrial Midwest, it sure seems real enough.

But while I see plenty of people either out of work or worried about being out of work around here, there are nonetheless still some jobs out there that are recession-proof. I wouldn't recommend being a Hummer salesman these days, but a recent list of the top 20 recession-proof professions indicates that professionals in the IT channel are safe from the axe during tough economic times.

Sales reps were number one on the list, and number two listed software designers and developers.

In any aspects in life people of different situations were affected by global recession. This might be the worst nightmare that we are facing today. Unlike VARs and ISVs not all were fortunate of not being affected by global recession, such as homeowners that suffers foreclosure because if they miss the payment or are late has shot through the roof, so payday loans may be a good way to stem the tide if you have a sudden expense. What sounds better – payday loans with upfront terms and low fees, or having to get a new place? Read more at the Money Blog about foreclosure and payday loans.

As an international recruiter specializing in CCIEs and Network Engineers I can vouch for the 6th place career on your list. Network engineers are still in high demand because Cisco Channel Partners are still doing a brisk business. Project managers are another area I see hot demand for in this unusual recession. There is stillhiring going on and anyone retooling their careers should consider Cisco Certifications. Good article!
