ICANN proposes new way to buy top-level domains

ICANN is seeking comments on a proposal that would open up the market for generic top-level domains (TLDs) on the Internet, basically allowing anyone with US$185,000 to buy a new TLD.

New TLD's for 185'000 USD??

Does that means that the new TLD Domains are just for governements and global enterprises?

What about all the little businesses and Nicheplayers?

Somebody may know when the new TLD's will be introduced and how to register a own TLD, e.g. .phantasia ?

I hope that smaller

I hope that smaller businesses are not left in the dust as corporations with much larger spending budgets gobble up all TLDs. - austin dwi injury attorney

Where Google Chrome security fails: the password
I heard mention that the Chrome OS will have some sort of encryption available a la bitlocker. If it's possible to encrypt personal data using another password or key, then it may have potential for very secure data.... And Ubuntu has an 'encrypt home directory' option, perhaps google should follow suit.
