Fire brings down authorize.net services
Details are still trickling in, but a fire in Authorize.net primary data center in Seattle took the service off line for a few hours today. The backup data center was also impacted, but details are still hazy. Service should be back online by the time you read this.

Either way you look at it Microsoft Data Center management did not follow standards or best practices in this failure. In which case it makes me wonder more about the outsourcing of corporate data much less personal data.

Merchants can currently access the Authorize.net accounts through the https url, although the main http site is still down. https://www.authorize.net/
