Here's a quick roundup of gaming news from the past few days. Sony hints at a new Premium tier for the Playstation Network, while Nintendo launches paid video content in Japan. Lastly, Datel is suing Microsoft over the latter's decision to lock out Datel Memory Units for the Xbox 360
PS3 Facebook firmware confirmed on eve of Xbox Fall Update launch
Last night Sony confirmed the 'Facebook on PS3' rumors that have been circulating, but Sony doesn't intend to replace their browser with a dedicated Facebook viewing tool. The new firmware launch date is a vague 'coming soon' but it was a good marketing ploy to reveal this news just as Microsoft was rolling out its Fall Update (including Facebook integration) to all users.

I heard mention that the Chrome OS will have some sort of encryption available a la bitlocker. If it's possible to encrypt personal data using another password or key, then it may have potential for very secure data.... And Ubuntu has an 'encrypt home directory' option, perhaps google should follow suit.
