May 20, 2009, 12:19 PM — I enjoy talking to people working in small and medium businesses, IT and not, whenever possible. Comment fields here are good, but not as good as real conversations. So if you're in the Dallas or Indianapolis areas, or near a computer on May 28th in the early afternoon, we can connect a little more real time than through reply boxes.
On Wednesday, May 27th, I'll be giving the keynote speech and two sessions at the Dallas ITEC regional IT conference. It's free, it's fun, you get lunch, and you get to see some vendors and hear some interesting presentations. I start at 9:15am, then the exhibits open at 10:00am. I'll do my “Explaining Geeks to Humans and the Inverse” humorous bit during lunch, then a Laptop Safety Seminar in the afternoon. Fun for all, and free (including lunch).
On Thursday, May 28th, I'll be doing a webinar called From Email Bankruptcy to Business Productivity, sponsored by HyperOffice. The subject came from an earlier Network World column I did called Get More Work Done with Less Email, and I'm glad HyperOffice is giving me a chance to revisit this topic. Who doesn't want to get more work done with less email, right? Tune in and find out how.
Tuesday, June 2nd, I'll be at ITEC Indianapolis for a repeat of my Dallas presentations. The same free lunch deal applies, although once again you'll have to listen to me speak. But I promise to not wear a suit and bore you with endless PowerPoint screens, OK? Just a few screens, a red Hawaiian shirt, and a snarky attitude. Did I mention it's free?
