 <link>http://www.itworld.com/software/86062/book-review-the-book-inkscape</link>
<description>Years ago, I discovered Gimp, the free tool that provides Photoshop-like processing of images. Only recently have I come across Inkscape -- the free graphics editor that competes with the likes of Adobe Illustrator. Even you can prepare professional quality graphics if you take the time to learn this fabulous tool. And now here&#039;s a book to teach you everything you need to know.

<title>How to Install Chrome OS From A USB Drive</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/operating-systems/86060/how-install-chrome-os-from-a-usb-drive</link>
<description>Have you already tried Chrome OS using a virtual machine, and were less than impressed? Well now you can get a feel for how Google&#039;s Web-centric operating system will run natively on your machine. The folks over at Engadget were able to boot Chromium OS -- the open source version of what will become Chrome OS -- off of a USB stick on a Dell Vostro A90 netbook. The USB bootable disc is based on the Chromium OS build of Twitter user Hexxeh, who set up a Web site where you can view all the instructions you need for getting your bootable USB up and running.

<description>I used to think Ubuntu was destined to lead Linux into the mainstream, but now it&#039;s looking much more like Google--not Canonical--will be the first Linux vendor to truly challenge Microsoft.

<title>Underwhelmed By Chrome OS? That&#039;s Kinda the Point</title>
 <link>http://www.itworld.com/open-source/85687/underwhelmed-by-chrome-os-thats-kinda-point</link>
<description>When Google unveiled its open source Chrome OS on Thursday, many commentators were quick to dismiss the new operating system as unimpressive and underwhelming. Citing everything from the browser interface that represents the entirety of the user experience to its limited hardware support and inability to install apps or play PC games, early critics have slammed Google&#039;s cloud-based OS for being exactly what it is intended to be: lean, fast, and simple.
