64-bits of protection?

Microsoft claims that the 64-bit version of Windows 7 is actually safer than ordinary Windows 7. They actually have a point. Sort of.

Microsoft confirms first Windows 7 zero-day bug

Microsoft late on Friday confirmed that an unpatched vulnerability exists in Windows 7, but downplayed the problem, saying most users would be protected from attack by blocking two ports at the firewall.

Where Google Chrome security fails: the password
I heard mention that the Chrome OS will have some sort of encryption available a la bitlocker. If it's possible to encrypt personal data using another password or key, then it may have potential for very secure data.... And Ubuntu has an 'encrypt home directory' option, perhaps google should follow suit.
