C&W to exit U.S., slash jobs

June 04, 2003, 9:50 AM — U.S. customers of Cable and Wireless PLC (C&W) will need to start looking for an alternative provider of corporate voice and data services after the financially-troubled U.K. network operator announced sweeping restructuring changes Wednesday, including a complete exodus from its loss-making North American business.
