Analysts have had a hard time getting a handle on the location-based services market: they see it as either an explosive growth opportunity, or a chronic underperformer that shows no sign of taking off any time soon. One commentator sees this paradox as arising from the lack of good location-based applications; when they arrive, he says, so will the market.
