U.S. House of Representatives to consider E911 office

U.S. law already mandates that mobile carriers provide E911 services, with which emergency personnel can home in on cell phone users calling for help. Now the Congress is considering legislation creating a central E911 office, which would coordinate local offices and increase the effectiveness of the service.
