CA subsidiary iCan SP delivers IT management software

December 10, 2003, 09:24 AM —  IDG News Service —

ICan SP Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Computer Associates International Inc. (CA), on Tuesday released its iCan Service Management Suite (iSMS), an enterprise IT management product.

The iSMS software is targeted at IT departments of large and medium-sized organizations. It allows users to define, develop, deliver and manage their IT services, iCan SP said in a statement. Current customers include Lehman Brothers Inc. and State Street Corp., the vendor said.

ISMS integrates with infrastructure management products including CA's Unicenter, IBM Corp.'s Tivoli and Hewlett-Packard Co.'s OpenView, iCan SP said. It adds value to those products by enabling cost analysis and budget planning, expanded service level management and extended service metering, among other features, the company said.

ISMS is packaged in five modules and sold on a subscription basis. Pricing depends on the modules bought and various metrics such as the number of users and CPUs (central processing units). ICan SP offers a 30 day free trial of the product.
