December 15, 2003, 3:41 PM — Among its other problems, Bluetooth has sometimes run into interference issues when competing with WLAN devices for the same 2.4 GHz spectrum space in a limited area. But at the recent Bluetooth Americas conference, Bluetooth's backers unveiled a technology called "frequency hopping" that will allow Bluetooth devices to avoid such interference.
