iOS 6.1.3 fixes lock screen bypass, improves maps in Japan

By Lex Friedman, Macworld |  Mobile & Wireless, Apple iOS, IOS

Apple on Tuesday released iOS 6.1.3, a minor update to the operating system that powers iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches. Included in the update is a fix for a recently discovered means of breaking past the lock screen, along with Maps improvements for Japan.

As per usual, you can install the update via the Software Update section of the Settings app on your iOS device, under General, or you can update via iTunes.

The update comes hot on the virtual heels of iOS 6.1.2, which fixed an Exchange calendar bug that could result in increased network activity and reduced battery life.
