September 16, 2013, 11:38 AM — No longer considered just a marketing ploy, Ultrabooks have taken over a good chunk of the notebook market. These thin, light, power-efficient laptops have gained a following among both users and manufacturers as an evolution of the portable computing form.
Windows 8 has certainly played a part in this shift. By marrying a touch-driven tablet UI to the traditional Windows desktop, an Ultrabook (or tablet-laptop convertible or hybrid), Windows 8 has forced a rethink of the traditional notebook form, while at the same time delivering the Windows features users have come to expect.
