December 15, 2000, 11:07 AM — LONDON -- Syntegra, a systems integrator owned by British Telecommunications PLC, will acquire Control Data Systems Inc. for $340 million.
Arden Hills, Minn.-based Control Data Systems specializes in systems integration and electronic-commerce outsourcing services.
The acquisition allows Syntegra to strengthen its market position and extend its global reach, and gain a new stronghold with its first purchase in the U.S., BT said in a statement issued today. No layoffs are anticipated, according to a BT spokeswoman.
Control Data Systems has 1,100 employees throughout the U.S., Asia and Europe, with 75% of them located in the U.S., BT said.
