Islandia, N.Y.-based Computer Associates International Inc. and Orem, Utah-based Caldera Systems Inc. announced a partnership today in which CA will develop its Unicenter TNG management framework for Caldera's distribution of the Linux operating system.

CA and Caldera competitor Red Hat Software Inc. in Research Triangle Park, N.C., announced such a partnership in March.

Under Caldera's agreement with CA, the companies will jointly market each other's products and the two will be available as a bundled suite.

In recent weeks Caldera has begun to catch up to Red Hat's runaway lead in high-profile partnerships. At PC Expo last month, Caldera and IBM announced a joint training and support deal. Red Hat and IBM had announced a partnership earlier in the year.
