Casio introduces cameras with YouTube capture

July 11, 2007, 01:15 PM —  Digital Arts Magazine —

Casio has released two digital cameras that offer a video capture modes designed for video destined to be uploaded to YouTube. They also feature the Exilim Engine 2.0 image processing module.

The EX-S880 is the latest addition to the Exilim Card series, which combines sophisticated design in a thin card size. The EX-Z77 joins Casio's successful Exilim Zoom series.

Both new models come with a high-quality movie function that makes the most of next-generation H.264 compression technology. They also feature Casio's new YouTube Best Shot Mode, which enables users to shoot and save movies at the optimum size, quality and other settings for YouTube. Casio has also included an exclusive software application that makes it fast and simple to upload movies to YouTubeTM.

The new cameras also feature a blur reduction function that uses motion analysis technology, an auto-tracking AF system, and face detection technology. Casio says that the combination of face detection technology and the auto-tracking AF system ensures that, once the focus locks on to a person's face, it will stay sharp and maintain the right exposure, even if the person moves.

The Exilim Card EX-S880 has an 8.1 megapixel CCD and a 3x optical zoom lens. It has a continuous shutter mode with a maximum of eight shots at 4fps (at 2.0 megapixel image size). It's available in a choice of three body colors: silver, black and red.

The Exlim Zoom EX-Z77 has a 7.2 megapixel CCD and a 3x optical zoom lens. There's a choice of five body colors: silver, black, red, blue and pink.

Pricing has yet to be announced.
