A recent survey of senior financial and IT executives at large U.S. corporations
reveals that U.S. organizations plan to keep project teams beyond Y2K projects to
strengthen project management skills across the board. Most teams reported being able
to confidently relate bad news to the top management, and virtually all agreed that the
executive staff was receptive to that type of information. A majority of the
respondents felt that organizations' project management skills need strengthening, with
CIOs overwhelmingly responding in the affirmative.
