February 23, 2001, 3:56 PM — Silicon Graphics, Inc. has a neat idea for easily and quickly deploying Web servers.
The company has introduced a CD-ROM that contains scripts that automatically install the Apache Web server software, Sendmail electronic messaging and security features.
Called Internet Server Environment (ISE), the product was introduced last week at LinuxWorld in New York. With ISE, the installation of software is guided from a Web-based user interface. It contains the popular Bastille security lockdown system and Tripwire intrusion detection software.
Internet Server Environment works with SGIs 1U and 2U Web servers. It is available now for $100.
