EarthLink announced last week that its EarthLink Biz DSL service is available in 25 additional cities. The new cities include Albany, N.Y.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Austin, Texas; Buffalo, N.Y.; Cincinnati; Colorado Springs; Columbus, Ohio; Dayton, Ohio; Detroit; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Kansas City, Mo.; Las Vegas; Louisville, Ky.; Milwaukee; Minneapolis; New Orleans; New York; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Portland, Ore.; St. Louis; Salt Lake City; San Antonio, Texas; Santa Barbara, Calif., and Syracuse, N.Y. The ISP's symmetrical DSL service is available in 39 markets. The service supports data transmission speeds from 144K bit/sec up to 1.1M bit/sec and starts at $129 per month.

Qwest Communications introduced a suite of customizable e-business packages last week. Called Qwest e-Solutions, the packages incorporate services such as Web site design, hosting and customized application development. There are three basic e-Solution categories: Shared e-Solution, a package for small businesses that relies on shared server space; Dedicated e-Solution, for firms that require a more complex Web site and a dedicated server; and Custom e-Solution, which is designed for large companies with complex needs.

GlobalCenter is officially under the wing of Exodus Communications. Earlier this month Exodus shareholders approved the $6 billion acquisition. GlobalCenter's previous parent, Global Crossing, struck a separate 10-year deal with Exodus to provide worldwide network service. The firms are also setting up a joint venture, Asia Global Crossing, which will offer Web hosting and managed services.
