Intel's Nehalem EX to gain error correction technology

Intel's eight-core Nehalem EX server processor will include a technology derived from its high-end Itanium chips that helps to reduce data corruption and ensure reliable server performance, the company said Tuesday.

Comparing the Nehalem Xserve to other servers

Apple's Xserve took the Nehalem plunge Tuesday. Specifically, the 1U server now runs on a Xeon 5500 series processor, which features the Nehalem microarchitecture. HP and Dell feature similar offerings. So I thought I'd compare the latest Xserve with these other two servers to see if Apple's product remains price-competitive to the other servers in its class.

Apple updates Xserve with Nehalem Xeon processors

Apple's new 1U rackmount server, Xserve, is based on Intel's latest Nehalem Xeon Processors, giving it twice the performance of its predecessor, according to Apple.

Either way you look at it Microsoft Data Center management did not follow standards or best practices in this failure. In which case it makes me wonder more about the outsourcing of corporate data much less personal data.
