Oracle-Sun deal: VARs Positive
Some early reports are coming in that VARs are on board with the Oracle-Sun deal. to date though, neither Sun nor Oracle has said much of anything about how the deal will affect the sales channel, but it seems to be welcome.
Oracle's Sun acquisition is a game-changer
I can't say that it was totally unexpected, but it did happen rather suddenly. The deal between IBM and Sun collapsed, and Oracle wasted no time in swooping in to pick up the pieces with a deal to acquire Sun for $9.50 a share, or about $7.4 billion. What is surprising is that the deal is really not that much more than what IBM was offering.

A Sun executive said customers are more focused on solving their IT problems than on acquisition rumors.
Doesn't anyone want to buy Sun?

Where Google Chrome security fails: the password
I heard mention that the Chrome OS will have some sort of encryption available a la bitlocker. If it's possible to encrypt personal data using another password or key, then it may have potential for very secure data.... And Ubuntu has an 'encrypt home directory' option, perhaps google should follow suit.
