Mobile device questions were top-of-mind in 2012 as readers looked to switch devices or to get more from their smartphones and tablets. But 2012 wasn't all iPhone and Android. Windows 8 also grabbed its share of attention, and Raspberry Pi, SOPA, and 802.11ac also got their due.

About two years ago, I suggested the cloud had jumped the shark -- not in the sense it had ceased to become an important part of the future of IT, but that the hype surrounding it had reached such a fever pitch that what it means to be "in the cloud" had almost become meaningless. I've been surprised to find that the hype has not died down.

pasmith commented on Stream PBS content to your Roku playerI've been really pleased with mine, and I don't think it's just me... I haven't seen a negative review of the Roku 3. It's possible I've just missed them but all the sites I read seemed to like it as well. Do keep in mind the Roku 3 only has HDMI out. Some of the other models offer more options in case you want to use component ports or something.
And I finally get around to mentioning the Time Warner Cable Roku Channel, too.10 hours 14 min ago
