Will Yahoo!’s re-branding and new logo do anything to help the company?

This morning, the first thing I heard was a story on NPR about Yahoo! launching a month long campaign leading up the reveal of its new logo. I practically never use anything from Yahoo!, so maybe I’m not the target (or maybe I am), but it seems risky to change a very recognizable logo to something else. Is this a wise move for Yahoo!? As a side note, if they want to change anything, I suggest they drop the “!”.
