Quality assurance jobs: What are my options in the tech field?

I did my Phd in chemical engineering, but I would like to get into an IT career. It just came to my knowledge that the QA field in IT is booming. Shall I get into the QA field? Are there other options that would make a good fit?

You might want to visit Simply Hired, Dice or Monster and do some searches for tech jobs that interest you. It always helps to know what jobs are out there, and also which qualifications are necessary to get them. You can then formulate a strategy to move into that field.
