What is the best format to use for resumes?
When sending my resume to potential employers, what is the best format to use? Sometimes companies specify, which makes it easy, but if they don't is one format more likely to be welcomed than others? I have been using DOC format, but a friend of mine suggested that I should send my resume as a TXT file.

I'd use whatever format the company prefers. Check their site and see if they have any specific guidelines. It's best to give them what they want, if you can find out before you send them anything. It'll help insure that someone actually looks at your resume.

I try to send out resume's in PDF format. This way, just in case the company doesn't use MS Office or compatable, or if you save your file as a docx by mistake, the employer may not be able to open it. Also, I find that PDF's are usually smaller as well and the employers I send to seem to prefer the PDF format.

I would prefer the DOC for resumes. Do remember that, keep the resume clean and concise.
Do not use any special font and any other cute symbol or images which seems like it;s going to be a nice resume. Please, don't do this.
