Is Google services a true cloud?

RomanZ

Google has come out with a pretty comprehensive set of as-a-service applications, but is is true "cloud computing?" I've always assumed that it was, but have seen some disagreements on that point.

I agree, it's definitely a true cloud. It may be aimed at a different audience than other cloud services, but it's certainly a valid choice.

Sure it is. Google's services meets all the definitions of the cloud. Some confusion may have resulted since they're not offering the full range of cloud services, and their main focus is on software-as-a-service. Amazon is the 800-pound gorilla of infrastructure-as-a-service right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if Google makes a play in this area in the foreseeable future as well.
