Anyone who tells you otherwise is steering you out of the way…Opportunities for talented Drupal developers are increasing – whether you are a designer, developer, database/system admin or an artist – because of nothing else but good ol’ S&D. The demand for Drupal developers is gaining steam every day. Literally.

In general, though, employers are not necessarily looking first at Drupal experience, and this is something that can be seen somewhat across the board when it comes to hiring of developers. A lot of companies, although certainly wanting to find skilled, proficient developers, will place an emphasis on finding people who have displayed verifiable tendencies toward open source, either as contributors or users. So, yes. The demand is there.
