Transcription from softphone/Skype calls

dblacharski

I've always just used my landline, connected to a tape recorder via a simple device I bought from Radio Shack, to record phone calls. I can then easily turn the tape over to my transcriptionist, who uses a standard transcription machine with a foot pedal. How can I accomplish the same thing with a Skype call that takes place on my PC? I want to be able to record the call and then transcribe it. Is there software that can record the call, and is there a foot pedal operated machine that works with digital recordings that my transcriptionist can use?
