I know this is a broad question, but looking for a solid smartphone with a good all purpose camera.

I have an iPhone 4 and I'm quite happy with the camera. It's not as good as an iPhone 4S but it serves my needs very well. However, if you are not in a hurry then you might want to wait for the iPhone 5. It's rumored to be arriving in June or July, and will probably have an even better camera in it than the iPhone 4S.

So sit tight if you can and keep an eye out for the final specs of the iPhone 5. It might be just what you are looking for in terms of a phone camera.

Probably an iPhone 4S is the best camera option. It is an 8-magapixel camera with autofocus, f/2.4 aperture lens and LED flash. There is also a built-in IR filter, so the color accuracy is increased. You can also shoot 1080p HD video with the 4S, and they look good enough that most people will have no idea that you took the footage with a smartphone instead of a traditional camera. Of course, all this awsome comes at a price, but that is true with most Apple products.
