Can you mount an Android tablet on Ubuntu?

If you are running Ubuntu, can you still mount an Android tablet using a USB cable so that you can access files the same way you can with a Windows PC? It's a first gen Nexus 7, if that makes a difference.

If you are running 13.04, it shouldn’t be a problem. Older versions of Ubuntu will require a little effort though. Here is a guide for older versions of Ubuntu:   http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2013/06/mount-nexus-4-on-ubuntu
