I'd go with the larger size iPad. They can make the fonts larger in a comfortable way if they need to, so it will be easier for them to read ebooks, etc. on it. Plus, the larger iPad currently has the retina screen, while the iPad mini does not. The retina screen makes reading and other things look a lot better.

I suppose it depends on how much you love your grandparents. If they are awesome and always gave you cool stuff for Christmas and your birthday, an actual iPad iPad would be nice, and the UI is very simple. If they just gave you copies of the free brochures they picked up at the local Sunday buffet, I would suggest a Maylong M-150.

Hello Friends,

Between its ability to stream movies to its ability to play great games to the thousands of apps available in the Apple App Store, you may be surprised about how many great uses there are for the iPad. In general terms, today's tablet computers sport touchscreens ranging in size from 7- up to 13-inches. These dimensions are by no means static, and boundaries can be blurred as smartphones get larger displays, a la the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Physical keyboards are also a rarity, but there are the exceptions such as the Asus Transformer Prime and newer Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, which come with a keyboard dock for the tablets, but there's a new kid on the block in the form of the Microsoft Surface.

Thanks and Regards,
