How to change default search engine when using IE10 for Metro?

There has to be a way to change the default search engine from Bing when using Internet Explorer Metro on a Windows 8 machine. How do you do it?

You have to open the desktop version of IE instead. Then go into tools (Alt+T)>manage add-ons. In the resulting window you should be able to “Select Search Provider”. Pick what you want there, and it may or may not work, and you will have to try again. Microsoft makes you work to change away from Bing.
