Many of us use external USB-connected drives on a regular basis. If you want to get to your files and folders on those drives faster, set up a keyboard shortcut.
Into Windows has the in-depth instructions for creating a keyboard shortcut to your USB drive. First you'll assign a unique drive letter to that disk in Windows Disk Management: Hit Win+R and type Diskmgmt.msc in the Run dialog. Then in the Disk Management window, right-click on your USB drive and choose "Change Drive Letter and Paths" to assign the drive a letter (such as "U").
Finally, you'll create a new keyboard shortcut to that drive letter in Windows Explorer: Right-click on the drive, go to Properties, and customize the shortcut key.
Voila! Now you'll be able to jump to that drive with your chosen shortcut instead of mousing around aimlessly in Windows Explorer.
