Add the MintX-Color icons and theme to your Linux Mint 17 computer

Linux Mint 17 is a great looking desktop Linux distribution by default. However, even the best desktop interface can use a little sprucing up now and then. Not to worry, with just a few commands you can spice your Linux Mint computer and give it a whole new look.

The MintX-Color icons and theme offer nine different colors to add some sparkle to your Linux Mint 17 computer. You can also use them with other desktop environments such as MATE, GNOME, Xfce or even Unity. Colors include pink, blue, orange, purple and even yellow.

Here's how you can install the MintX-Color icons and theme in Linux Mint 17:

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install mintx-colors-icon

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/themes

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install mintx-colors-gtk-theme
