Typhoon is a desktop weather widget that lets you customize your weather reports. Typhoon is free so it won't cost you anything to install it. It's also based on Stormcloud and offers the ability to change colors, location and even the opacity of the widget itself.
The Typhoon site offers more information about how to use it, and you can even email the Typhoon developer if you have questions or problems. Typhoon is a very slick, stylish way of monitoring the weather on your Ubuntu 14.04 system.
Here's how you can install the Typhoon weather widget in Ubuntu 14.04:
1. Open a terminal window.
2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:apandada1/typhoon
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install typhoon
I found a helpful video on YouTube by Charlie Henson that shows you how to install Typhoon, and then how to configure it in Ubuntu 14.04.
