Use encryption to protect the data on your Android phone or tablet

Here's how you can set up encryption on stock Android tablets and phones. Encryption will help protect the security of the data on your Android. This can be very important if you lose your Android device, or if you sell it or give it away.

1. Go to Settings.

2. Go to Security.

3. Tap on Encryption.

4. You'll be required to type in a PIN or password that will be required to decrypt your data when you turn your Android device on.

Please note that these settings are for stock Android devices. Other devices may have the settings in other places, but they shouldn't be too hard to find.
