Turn off overlay scroll bars on your Ubuntu 14.04 system

Overlay scroll bars can be very annoying to some Ubuntu 14.04 users. Here's how you can easily turn them off.

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Type in the following command then hit Enter.

gsettings set com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode normal

3. Use this command to turn scroll bars back on.

gsettings reset com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode

You can disable overlay scroll-bars, if you don't like them.
