Install XBMC 13 in Ubuntu 14.04

Add XBMC 13 Gotham to your Ubuntu 14.04 system


Here's how you can XBMC 13 in Ubuntu 14.04. XBMC lets you play a huge range of audio and video formats. You can also use it to stream media over your network.

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install xbmc xbmc-bin

According to Noobs Lab:

If you are using previous version of XBMC then you must uninstall that version otherwise it will break XBMC.

Use your media as-is: XBMC can play CDs and DVDs directly from the disk or image file, almost all popular archive formats from your hard drive, and even files inside ZIP and RAR archives. It will even scan all of your media and automatically create a personalized library complete with box covers, descriptions, and fanart.
