Here's how you can add the option to open files or folders in Nautilus as root or administrator in Ubuntu 14.04.
1. Open a terminal window.
2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install open-as-administrator
3. Type this command to restart Nautilus.
According to Noobs Lab:
Most users like to open files/folders as root directly from nautilus to do something with file-system. Now you can easily add this option in your nautilus/file-manager with just few commands. It will add entry to the context menu where you can easily access it with just one click.More at Noobs Lab
