Leaked specs, image, of Archos GamePad 2 hit the web

It's been about a year since Archos launched the Gamepad, an Android tablet dedicated to gaming (complete with physical buttons). I talked about it in August of 2012 when I reported a sub-$200 price tag and an October 2012 launch date.

And then I promptly forgot the thing existed. I've certainly never seen one in person, though Amazon has them in stock for $179, so they do exist. (Amazon has 15 reviews for a 2.9 star rating.)

Apparently someone is buying them and Archos believes that there's a market for these devices because a new model leaked yesterday. Assuming the info is accurate, the Archos GamePad 2 has a 1.6 Ghz quad-core processor, a 1,280 x 800 7" screen and 2 GB of RAM. It'll come in 8 and 16 GB storage models and it'll have a microSD card slot so you can easily expand that.

ArcTablet suggests the GamePad 2 will retail for somewhere between $190 and $200 based on a leaked price of $169.99 in quantities of 500 or more.

If you're interested in this device, first...who are you and why do you want this? Second, you can hit up that ArcTablet link for a few more details.

Seriously, I'd love to know who is buying these things. Leave a comment if you have one!
