Another obstacle-climbing robot that will haunt my dreams

DARPA Pet-Proto Robot can now shimmy across large gaps

The robot-creating geniuses over at DARPA have released another video, showing off a robot that can do more things than humans that should frighten the bejesus out of you, should robots ever achieve human intelligence.

This particular robot can make autonomous decisions, and also has dismounted mobility and dexterity.

Registration for Track C of the DARPA Robotics Challenge, in which teams are challenged to come up with robotic technology for disaster-response operations, is now open. Go here for more details.

I still think they're up to something other than disaster response (just kidding! Yay DARPA!)
