As a parent, I have to say putting together LEGO sets for my 5-year-old son is about as exciting as going to the dentist. Don't get me wrong, I love LEGOs, but I have to do all of the hard work because his fine motor skills aren't there just yet on LEGO construction. Plus, about 10 minutes after I complete the set, he's taking it apart to build his own creations.
So when I see a LEGO set like this one, the 2,127-piece Star Wars R2-D2 set, I'm amazed at the patience of the builder (thankfully, the seven hours of construction time is time-lapsed into about 2 minutes). But I'm also wondering how long before this set gets dismantled by a 5-year-old just waiting off camera.
