Casio Android tablet can scan paper notes

Combination tablet cover/scanner launched in Japan

Here's another cool video from the DigInfo News folks over in Japan. Casio has launched the Paper Writer, a 10.1-inch Android tablet that can scan handwritten notes as well as take digital scan images.

The scanner is built into the tablet's cover - so if you have a stack of paper images that you want to digitally reproduce, you can quickly scan them in via the Paper Writer's cover. The video shows some more cool features.

The device does this with two 5-megapixel cameras, and it also includes a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and a backlit display. I'm also impressed with the battery, which can be used for about 12 hours - and since it's removable, you can carry an extra one around.
