Gran Turismo Academy looking for new recruits

Reality show turns video game drivers into real racers

The next time your parents turn to you and say, "Video games are a waste of time" or "You can't get a real job playing video games," show them this video, in which Sony Computer Entertainment America and Nissan North America have created the Gran Turismo Academy racing competition (second annual).

The competition pits contestants through a series of virtual, physical and mental challenges for the chance to become a professional race car driver. The second season is about to begin - you can download GT Academy 2012 through the PlayStation Store from May 2 through June 26 to battle against friends in "an eight-step qualification program designed to craft your virtual-to-reality racing skills to competition levels." More details are available at the GT Academy Facebook page.
