A few weeks ago, Maxis and EA released the trailer for the new SimCity game, set to launch sometime next year. In this video, we get a deeper look at the new Glassbox engine powering the game, as GamePlay Lead Dan Moskowitz "describes the concepts of Resources, Units, Maps and Agents" and how they affect the game's simulation.

It's amazing at how detailed these simulations and calculations get, and yet the game can be so fun to play - especially when you destroy your city with a Godzilla.
