If you own a Kinect, you are probably accustomed to having to rearrange your entire living room just to use it. To play anything Kinect you have to stand at least a good 6-feet away from the sensor, and you can just forget about it entirely if you live in a small apartment.
Nyko has finally created a solution for gamers with small rooms by slapping on some binoculars, called the Zoom, onto the Kinect. The Zoom is an optical clip-on device that uses two wide-angle lenses. The extra glass tightens up the Kinect's focal distance by widening and magnifying its view. With the attachment, the Kinect can detect two players that stand between 3 and 6 feet from the sensor.
Here's a video from Nyko that shows how it works.
So the next time you feel like mixing it up with Dance Central or playing Kinect Adventures, you won't have to move your coffee table, couch, and the dog--or tape your Kinect sensor to the ceiling. The Nyko Zoom is available now for $29.99 at retailers or direct from Nyko.
