Install 64-bit Adobe flash player in Ubuntu 11.04

How to add Adobe's 64-bit player to Ubuntu

Adobe recently released a 64-bit update to its flash player for Linux. This is great for many Linux users who have been clamoring for a 64-bit version for sometime. Well Adobe was listening and here's how you can add it to Ubuntu 11.04.

1. Hit CTRL+ALT+T and paste this into the terminal window that pops up:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sevenmachines/flash

2. Keep the terminal window open and then paste in these commands:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install flashplugin64-installer

Close the terminal window after the install is finished, the 32-bit version will be removed automatically if you already have it installed.

3. You can verify your install by going to YouTube to play a flash-based video.
