Exploring the universe via Xbox Kinect

Guy puts the whole world (literally) in his hands

Microsoft's Kinect motion-control system for the Xbox 360 is making such waves with people who are using the system in very new, unique and cool ways. In this video, witness the Microsoft WorldWide Telescope, done in conjunction with NASA. The project already was able to provide high-resolution photos and 3D images of the universe, but Microsoft then added a Kinect depth camera and software created with the company's upcoming Kinect SDK for Windows.

In the video, watch how the narrator uses his hands and body to give the audience a tour of the universe.

With all of the cool demonstrations we've seen by people who haven't had the SDK, we can't wait to see what gets created next. This might actually get people excited about using PCs again...
