As a female executive in primarily a male dominated profession, I am pleased to be part of a multi-city workshop series focused on advancing female executives within the profession of IT. This half day workshop stems directly from the Council’s Executive Women in IT (EWIT) community of practice, formed in 2008, and comprised of over dedicated 200 women.
The series will deliver executable strategies surrounding how to overcome fear as a risk taker and trailblazer along with tips on how to gain a broader view of one's business. The Executive Women in IT community looks for ways throughout the year to encourage members to learn from each other and forge judiciously into the challenges female senior IT executives face day-to-day. Based on community feedback from our 2010 world tour, this workshop expands the passion our members have to advance the IT profession and the women within it.
This community thrives on mentoring women and looks to develop strategies that showcase one's abilities and help women succeed as executives regardless of the environments they face at work or at home. During the workshop we'll complete a self-assessment on leadership skills, work in small groups and share real life success stories throughout the day. We will also outline executable strategies attendees can immediately apply to their current business roles to further their own career aspirations. Please join me and co-chair Pamela Rucker at one of three cities starting May 10 in Boston. See you there!
